After you've experienced the start in downtown Anchorage.
Our day is full of adventure and fun away from the crowds. We take you beyond Willow Lake further up the road into the wilderness to the Iditarod Trail where you will be within feet of the mushers as they race towards Nome. We stay until the last musher leaves for Nome. Indoor bathroom facilities are available.
PLEASE NOTE: In 2016 we are taking reservations on on first come first served basis. We will put the first 25 guests on a confirmed reservation list after which we will have a waiting list. On or about February 21 we will be contacting you for payment. This is the approximate time when, if necessary, a decision will be made by the Iditarod Committee to move the re-start to Fairbanks.
If payment is not made in 72 hours from this notification, you will lose your spot and we will move guests up from the waiting list.
DISCLOSURE: If the re-start is moved to Fairbanks, the tour will be cancelled and an alternative offered to you.

Enjoy dog sledding in a back country setting
Enjoy the serenity of this backcountry wilderness as you slide across the snow.You may be surprised at how fast the dogs run! Denali, the highest mountain in North America, is visible on clear days. Drive north of Anchorage through Wasilla to Willow, AK, the area of the re-start of the Iditarod Sled Dog race where the dog sled ride is conducted. Lunch, not included in the price, is at rustic Eagle Quest Lodge. Warm meals are priced between $7 and $13.

Tour to Wasilla, AK for a visit to the Iditarod Headquarters in Wasilla to enjoy an informative movie and check out the race museum (weekdays only) before embarking upon the adventurous, scenic drive up Hatcher Pass, a local haven for winter activities. Learn about the Independence Gold Mine (elev 3550 feet) for a feel of how pioneering men and women lived and worked in a severe climate with no modern amenities. Return is through historic Palmer.
